Well summer went out with a bit of a bang literally - as coming home from one of my external clinics, I was involved in a car crash ( basically I was the meat in the middle of a car sandwich -none of it my fault I might add!) which put me out of action for a while, but other than that we’ve had a pretty wonderful summer full of clinics and intensives here at Wings Farm.
Famoso and I have just come home from a fantastic 2-day flatwork clinic with Grand Prix Dressage rider Paulo Santos at his base in Chichester. I did a year worth of training with Paulo last year when I was part of the UK Working Equitation Squad with my other horse Skeeter, so I knew just how much work we were about to receive, however, this clinic was a little different.
This kind of sums up how today is going to go! As soon as one clinic ends, we get ready for another one and more new arrivals tomorrow- day 1 of holistic horseworks clinic with Jean Whitebread.
Thank you so much to all you guys who braved the icy temperatures and camped in your lorries and trailers for this weekend's workshops at Wings Farm, been there and done that myself many times so I do appreciate your commitment very much! lovely weekend catching up with you all, and great to see some newbies here too.
Hopefully next time you all come over it will be warmer!
Love this boy to bits, he tries his heart out every time we have a lesson. Thank you Sue for a fabulous lesson and thank you Famoso- I told you all that ice blue saddle pad matched his eyes.
Ok Smartie pants, he did all my obstacles today, with some really nice canters in between. I had planned on taking my time this year and bringing him out to working equitation competitions at the end of the summer. He may have other ideas.
I think our little herd of deer were a bit chilly last night or they were just fed up of the wind and rain, they were all in the car park this morning by the stables watching the horses, looks like the herd is getting bigger
